Individual treatment systems for different types of contaminents

The contract’s scope will cover RAPID Complex’s effluent and waste water treatment to below the regulatory discharge limits with a state-of-the-art water treatment system. Run-off water and aqueous effluents from all sources in RAPID, as well as Pengerang Cogeneration Plant are collected and segregated so that specific treatment can be applied. The main streams are Accidentally Oil Contaminated (AOC) water, Accidentally Chemically Contaminated (ACC) water, Fire fighting Water Run-off (FWR), Continuously Oily Contaminated (COC) water, Process Waste (PW) water from refinery, Steam Cracker Complex (SCC) and Petchem units, Utilities effluents (UE) and Sanitary Waste Water (SWW). These effluents are polluted components such as hydrocarbons, dissolved organic biodegradable pollutants and oily polluted process effluents. Effluent Treatment Plant comprises various units and processes to treat such pollutants like Wet Air Oxidation, Oil Separation units, Biotower, Biological reactors and self-cleaning filters to reach the desired regulatory limits.

Speaking on the momentous occasion, Rajiv Mittal of VA Tech Wabag Limited said, “This project demonstrates WABAG’s technological superiority and engineering capabilities in executing world class large and complex industrial water projects.”
