WABAG India has been awarded another major contract by the Delhi Jal Board for a new municipal wastewater treatment in New Delhi based on a DBO –Design-Build-Operate – scheme.
The Pappankalan wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 91,000 m3/d will incorporate mechanical and biological treatment steps based on the activated sludge process. These are to be followed by advantageous
anaerobic sludge digestion with biogas utilisation for the production of energy in a power plant.
The order will be realised on a turnkey basis within a period of 24 months and include the civil works. After commissioning, which will take place at the beginning of 2014, WABAG will assume responsibility for the
operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of ten years.
