Innovative ways of managing wastewater challenges.
The 6th China International Water Business Summit represented the most significant and influential platform in the China water industry in 2011. This is underlined by the fact that the most important water authorities and organisations in the PRC acted as the official event hosts.
WABAG not only sponsored this top water occasion, but also supported it by sharing its experience and know-how. Our company has been active in China for more than 20 years and has realised 70 water and wastewater projects including water reuse projects. Consequently, WABAG has extensive competences in the field of sustainable water treatment and water recycling systems and at the Summit, presented the audience with some of its most interesting projects.
Mr. Mittal gave a paper entitled “Innovative ways of managing wastewater challenges – established case studies” and spoke about WABAG’s individual solutions such as the Goreangab WTP in Windhoek, Namibia, which is the world’s first direct potable water reuse plant. He also referred to the industrial recycling systems for the IOCL Panipat and CPCL Chennai refineries, as well as energy-saving wastewater treatment concepts in Kodungayur, India and Beijing Xiaohongmen, China that employ anaerobic sludge treatment and biogas utilisation for energy recovery.
