WABAG at the SIWW 2012 - Singapore International Water Week, July 1-5, 2012

Water Solutions for Liveable and Sustainable Cities.

As one of the world’s leading water technology companies, we will be attending the Singapore International Water Week, which is a global platform for water solutions and Asia’s most important water symposium. We will be playing an active role at the event with poster presentations showing advanced water technologies, a specialised lecture reporting on industrial recycling and the participation of our CEO, R.D. Mittal in the CEO Round Table of the Indian Business Forum:

Hybrid treatment systems for surface waters (Water Convention, July 2, 4:00pm-5:00pm)
WABAG Water Technology Switzerland will be presenting new combinations of conventional and state-of-the-art process technologies, which aim to meet the current challenges facing drinking water supply such as the need for the increased availability of safe drinking water in combination with the low energy consumption of multi-stage treatment systems.

Recovery of process water from metal oxide effluent (Water Convention – July 1, 4:00pm-5:00 pm)
Mr. Harish from WABAG Chennai will provide an overview of the effluent treatment plant at Travancore Titanium Products, Thiruvananthapuram, India. The production facility generates two streams of acid effluents (6,115 m3/day). The aim of the project is a water recovery of 70% with a TDS of 150 ppm for recycling back to the industry. WABAG designed an individual process to meet these challenges by employing Dual Media Filters, Microfiltration and Reverse Osmosis Systems.

Indian Business Forum: CEO Round Table – Panel members from Government, Financial and Indian Water Companies (July 3, 4:25pm-5:25pm)
Mr. Rajiv D. Mittal is one of the three representatives invited from the Indian Water Industries and will discuss together with officials and members of the World Bank and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation as well as representatives from MNC’s challenges and opportunities of the Indian Water Business.

Water Convention – Session Industrial Wastewater treatment:
Special lecture: Recycling of refinery and petrochemical effluents employing advanced multi-barrier systems (July 4, 2:30 pm)
Dr. Josef Lahnsteiner, Head of R&D at WABAG Vienna, will report on the experience obtained from a recycling project for the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Panipat. Two water reclamation plants were built, which treat secondary refinery and various refinery/petrochemical process effluents. Advanced multi-barrier systems (including ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis) have been employed in order to meet the stringent quality requirements for the recycling of boiler make-up water. Excellent results with regard to the removal of the major parameters such as total dissolved solids and silica have been accomplished.
