The sewage treatment plant installed in Bagbag is to treat the raw sewage flowing at an average of 10.4 MLD and a peak of 18.72 MLD. The system includes three-stage treatment: primary treatment, biological treatment, and disinfection. The purified wastewater is discharge into the nearby creek. The biological treatment provided is a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) for the reduction of BOD and COD and for the removal of Posphorus and Ammonia. Due to the limited space an innovative design for the SBR reactor was developed and applied.

Process steps:

Pre-treatment: Fine screening, grit and grease removal
Biological treatment:  Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR)
Sludge treatment: Combined thickening and dewatering
Odour control:  Integrated pre-scrubber and bio-filter
Post-treatment: Disinfection (chlorination)
