The Compact Solution
Developed by WABAG in the 1980s, the lamella settler technology was designed to significantly reduce the footprint of clarifiers following the flocculation and coagulation treatment steps. Since its inception, WABAG’s lamella clarifiers have been successfully implemented in numerous drinking water production and wastewater treatment plants worldwide.
The Process
In the lamella clarifiers, flocculated inlet water flows upward through the bottom of the lamella plates, where it undergoes clarification before entering the concrete channels. Concurrently, the flocculated sludge descends by gravity and is thickened at the bottom of the tank with the aid of a picket fence scraper. The lamella plates are constructed from corrosion-resistant and UV-stable materials, ensuring durability and longevity. They are securely mounted using a robust stainless steel framework, providing structural integrity and ease of maintenance..
