May 09, 2018: VA TECH WABAG LIMITED (‘WABAG’), a leading pure play water technology Indian Multinational has secured an order for INR 296 Crores from Delhi Jal Board towards rehabilitation and up-gradation of the 182 MLD Waste Water Treatment Plant at Rithala under the Yamuna Action Plan. The scope includes design, supply, construction, commissioning including operation and maintenance for 11 years. The project will be financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (‘JICA’).

The up-gradation includes WABAG designing and constructing a Biogas power generation unit from sewage, reducing dependence on the power grid. This is another fine example of promoting waste-to-energy concept.
