Modernising one of the world’s largest drinking water treatment plants.

WABAG, in partnership with a local JV partner, executed the La Mesa-2 Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Quezon City, with the scope to retrofit, rehabilitate, and upgrade. The La Mesa-2 WTP, one of the key drinking water facilities serving Metro Manila, currently produces 900,000 m³/day of potable water, providing clean water to around five million people. The project modernized the aging infrastructure and enhanced its resilience while maintaining continuous operation. WABAG’s scope included design, engineering, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, and a year of process proving post-completion.

Project Features:

  • Scope: Retrofit, rehabilitation, and upgrade of the La Mesa-2 WTP, including a year of process proving.

    • Modernization of pre-treatment to lamella clarification,
    • Upgrade to dual media filtration,
