Pappankalan WWTP: 91 MLD Green Energy Plant powers Sustainable Delhi

WABAG was awarded a contract for the Pappankalan municipal wastewater treatment plant based on a Design-Build-Operate (DBO) scheme by the Delhi Jal Board in 2012. This environmentally-friendly wastewater treatment facility has a capacity of 91,000 m³/d and incorporates mechanical and biological treatment processes based on the activated sludge method. Following these treatments, the plant utilizes anaerobic sludge digestion for biogas production, which is then used for energy generation. WABAG realized the project on a turnkey basis, including all civil works. After commissioning in 2000, WABAG assumed responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the plant for eleven years.
