Adsorption process with granulated activated carbon (GAC)
Utilizes the same physical principle as with Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC), but with a larger grain size. This allows it to be placed as a substitute for traditional media in a filter. This means that adsorption and retention of the adsorbent occur in a single process step, making it simpler and more compact than using PAC. Additionally, this avoids the more challenging handling associated with PAC.
Key Features
- Low electricity consumption
- A robust process with limited maintenance and personnel expenses
- The additional operating cost saving potential provided by the return of the activated carbon to the biology.
