Deputy Manager – Procurement (Piping)
Key Responsibilities:
• End-to-end procurement for key project packages including:
o Piping: Pipes (CS, SS, DI, HDPE, GRE, PVC), valves, fittings, flanges, gaskets, supports
o Structural Steel: Rolled sections (beams, channels, angles, plates), gratings, handrails, ladders
o Reinforcement Steel (TMT): As per structural BOQ and drawings
o Cement & Civil Bulk Materials: OPC/PPC, GGBS, fly ash, aggregates, bricks, concrete additives
• Float and manage RFQs, bid evaluations (technical + commercial), and vendor negotiations.
• Coordinate with engineering and site teams to ensure specifications and delivery timelines are met.
• Issue purchase orders (POs) aligned with project budget and contractual terms.
• Liaise with vendors for material submittals, inspections, and documentation.
• Track and expedite deliveries; resolve supply or quality-related issues.
• Maintain procurement logs, vendor data, and cost comparisons.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement procedures and project requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Lead procurement strategy for multiple projects or large-value packages.
• Develop and maintain key vendor relationships and rate contracts.
• Mentor junior procurement staff and assist in team planning.
• Support strategic sourcing and cost optimization initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 13+ years of relevant procurement experience preferably in an EPC environment.
• Experience in sourcing and managing materials for piping, structural steel, and cement/civil works.
• Strong knowledge of IS/ASTM/ASME standards and civil/piping drawings.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Good knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, inspection, and vendor quality protocols.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in water & wastewater, infrastructure, or industrial EPC projects.
• Exposure to both domestic and international suppliers.
• Familiarity with site requirements, packaging, and shipping logistics.
