May 13, 2025 – VA TECH WABAG LIMITED (WABAG) is proud to announce that its 40 MLD Ghaziabad Tertiary Treatment Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) Plant in Uttar Pradesh, India, executed for Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam, has been honoured with the Distinction Award in the “Water Reuse Project of the Year” category at the prestigious Global Water Awards 2025, held in Paris.

This state-of-the-art facility treats 40,000 cubic metres of secondary treated municipal wastewater per day, transforming it into high-quality industrial-grade water that is supplied to the Sahibabad Industrial Estate. By incorporating advanced technologies such as disc filtration, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis, the plant exemplifies modern, sustainable water reuse.

The Ghaziabad TTRO Plant stands as a benchmark for urban water recycling and reuse, offering a model that delivers both environmental and economic benefits. It supports industrial growth while easing the pressure on freshwater resources — a practical step toward sustainable urban water management in India.
