The water treatment plant — a 20 MLD seawater RO desalination plant — ensures a continuous water supply for various industrial facilities within the port, including the 5 × 660 MW power plant.
Project Highlights:
- Scope:
- EPC contract
- Treatment Process:
- Raw water intake from sea at stilling chamber
- Pre-treatment (plate settler, gravity dual media filter and pressure sand filter for fine filtration)
- Reverse Osmosis system
- Energy recovery device: turbocharger
- Control – automatic operation with PLC based control system
- Impact:
- The reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination plant, with a production capacity of 20 MLD (permeate), plays a vital role in securing a reliable water supply for the power plant and other key industrial utilities in Mundra, significantly reducing dependence on freshwater resources and supporting sustainable industrial growth in the region.
