This project aims to ensure water security and enhance sanitation for the city of Delhi by efficiently operating and maintaining both drinking water and wastewater treatment plants. The project helps improve the quality of life for millions of residents while focusing on sustainability and resource recovery.

Project Highlights:

  • Scope: WABAG operates and maintains 1 Drinking Water Treatment Plant (Dwaraka) with a capacity of 220,000 m³/day, 3 Wastewater Treatment Plants (Kondli, Papankalan & Keshopur) with a combined capacity of 525,000 m³/day, and 1 Sewage Pumping Station (Possangipir) with a capacity of 41,639 m³/day. The project promotes the adoption of innovative models to enhance efficiency and resource recovery.
  • Treatment Process: The project integrates water and wastewater treatment processes, using advanced technologies for both drinking water and sewage treatment. This includes biological and mechanical treatments, water filtration, and the operation of sewage pumping stations to manage wastewater effectively.
  • Impact: By improving the operational efficiency of these facilities, the project contributes to water security in Delhi and ensures better sanitation for the population. The initiative supports the recovery of resources and reduction of environmental impact, ultimately improving the health and sustainability of the city’s water systems.
