This long-term O&M project enhances water security and sanitation for the city of Delhi by ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of major drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities. The initiative improves service delivery for millions of residents while focusing on sustainability, compliance, and resource recovery.

Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant O&M Supporting Delhi’s Environmental Goals

WABAG operates and maintains some of Delhi’s largest sewage treatment plants and pumping stations, ensuring dependable wastewater management across the city. These facilities are maintained to meet CPCB standards, safeguard water bodies, and support Delhi’s environmental priorities.

Integrated Operation and Maintenance Across Water and Wastewater Systems

The project covers the full ecosystem of drinking water and wastewater management, ensuring uninterrupted service and optimized system performance for Delhi’s growing urban population.

O&M Scope Across Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities

WABAG’s scope includes the operation and maintenance of:

  • 1 Drinking Water Treatment Plant (Dwarka) – 220,000 m³/day
  • 3 Wastewater Treatment Plants with a combined capacity of 334,400 m³/day:
    • Rithala WWTP – 187,000 m³/day
    • Pappankalan WWTP – 91,000 m³/day
    • Keshopur WWTP – 56,400 m³/day
  • 1 Sewage Pumping Station (Possangipur) – 41,639 m³/day

This integrated portfolio ensures the effective functioning of Delhi’s core water infrastructure.

The project incorporates O&M of complete treatment workflows, including:
